After installing Bonus Tools, an additional pull-down menu will be added to the end of the main Maya menu. This menu provides easy access to a variety of tools and utilities for daily use.

Maya Bonus Tools has been organized to mimic the layout of the standard Maya menu sets. Each sub-menu contains a number of related tools. Each of these can be torn off and floated just like standard Maya menus. Before installing BonusTools , older versions of Maya BonusTools should be uninstalled first in order to avoid conflicts. Hello everybody. I have Maya I have installed the bonustools but the menu does not appear.

I am very interested in speedcut. The updates take too long after new versions and the tools could be bundled with the software or at least with more constant version independent updates. I downloaded this specifically for the Poly Volume. It works great. Make sure you enable the "Measure" Plug in so the Poly Volume will be accessible because by default it is grayed out and requires the Measure Plug in.

Speedcut disappeared after open and never seen again i try script given in coment ,reinstall bonus tool but diden't work what should i do?

Excuse me but, why plug-ins " pointOnMeshInfo. I can't see it in Plug-in Manager. Despite having a clean install and running the plug in install it somehow doesnt whow up and i cant activate it either in the plug in manager.

I download the latest version of the bonus tool for MAYA , cannot find sweep mesh at all. Installed Bonus Tools in Maya The obsolete versions of the tools' Curve to ribbon' and' Curve to Tube' are still present, there is no Speedcut, weight editor, or any of the other new features.

Furthermore, the green new feature highlight appears on additions from the previous bonus tools collection. Also, I have downloaded, installed, and uninstalled these tools multiple times, on a fresh install of maya with no change. Time Warp Animation which is why i installed worked as needed. PolyTools When I activate sun. Sweep Mesh is not a stable or flexible enough replacement for Curve to Ribbon Mesh. Sweep Mesh has tripled my work time for the same task due to having to fiddle with UV's for each individual hair card and being unable to smoothly work with more than one mesh at a time.

I have the same issue, the new tools don't appear, tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. Would be so ossom to have this amazing plugin in Maya Do you have any idea when could we have it there too?

There are many ready-in tools, especially 'Reverse Animation' is a great tool. Thank you very much. Hello everyone, i get this error whenever i try to use flatten components I just installed the bonus tool but there are missing some option, like in modeling slide components is missing and also draw split and draw reduce. It was working for me for a while.

But then just stopped suddenly. Previous value will be overwritten by explicit initializer. I wanna too support for Maya , because i 'm a beta tester of Maya, so we have already. Would be great to have bonus tools for it already, but i don't believe they will do it. I have a lot of fatal error when I change the options of this tool I want to see my shaders library vray, arnold, maya shaders : no icons.

Any way to see them? This crash bug has been fixed in the latest version of BT. This fix should work in both Maya and Maya Otherwise icons can been created and viewed for any mb, ma or fbx file. LayoutTools Browser Doesn't Work!!! With a lot of fatal error due to the Browser and I can't see any icons in it..

This has been addressed in the latest version. The fix should work in both Maya and Maya Go into the Plug-in Manager and load the xgenToolkit. The auto unwrap UV's tool should work fine afterwards. Disabled it?

Crashes every time I change icon size in the layout window tried on different computers. Images displayed in icons are not scaled so appear cropped.

Works fine in , but I also want it to work in , which is also installed on my Mac, but the "universal installer" provided ignores it, and does not install bonus tools to the older installed version of Maya. Please we need the version of this plugin! I think the bonus tools should be part of each Maya releases.

While these books tend to do a lot of referring to supplementary material available on the book's website, if you have been using Maya for some time already, it may not be needed for you to still get the most out of this book.

For me, I have been an intermediate user and this fills in the gaps. The author makes no bones about it, that you really need some ground understanding of Maya before picking this one up. That said, there really aren't a lot of great intermediate or expert books out there on Maya - and Mr.

Palamar does a great job with handling the necessary details of the different angles of the intermediate and advanced Maya topics. So the author does a great job of getting to the necessities and "most used" items in Maya, and not spending an inordinate amount of time on the items that you may use - well, never - or rarely.

I have been reading this from cover to cover and have enjoyed it. Unlike other reviewers, I only purchased the Kindle version not the textbook one and can say with authority that the example photos are quite detailed and easily zoomable.

Since anyone with a PC or Mac or Linux.. I'm an old-schooler too when it comes to text books, but it's useful as a reference guide in addition to being a great starter for the intermediate user to round out their knowledge. That being said, even if the paper book didn't have the problem with the pictures as some mention, I'd still recommend getting this in a Kindle format.

There is one downside to this book. Maya has been out for a little bit, and some things have changed though not dramatically - things tend to get added in by Autodesk moreso than made-over. But there is enough YouTube material out there on it to fill in that gap. I have the hefty paperback version of this book by Keller. I was looking for a mobile, updated electronic version, knowing that the content was valuable.

I have given 3 stars for the authors efforts at updating content. This version is a few years old but is the latest release as of fall , and so Kindle updates may have broken formatting. I wonder why the publisher has allowed such a flawed product to go unfixed. Many of my Kindle books are of a technical nature - with images, tables This book instead, has a table of contents with links that do not work, intermixed paragraph text and headers making following each sentence difficult , and unusable images due to poor source resolution.

Is this the best Autodesk Press and Sybex can offer? Was looking forward to this book. Click the below link to download the standalone installer of AutoDesk 3D Maya for Windows x86 and x64 architecture. It is compatible with all the newer releases of Windows. Skip to content.

If you find you are only interested in some videos from one or more tutorials, it may be cheaper to buy video credits which can be used to purchase just the segments you want which works out to about 25 minutes of video per credit. Again, this is another site that is using industry professionals to create their tutorials, so you know they have real-world experience using Maya and it isn't just another professional trainer whose only experience with the software came from creating the video.

This course contains more than 8 hours of video in 63 lectures led by Dariush Derahkshani - an award-winning visual effects supervisor. Although this doesn't cover the latest version of the software, it still provides all of the building blocks that beginners need to know to use the software effectively, and covers every topic I have seen in courses covering the version so you should not consider the version number in the title to be off-putting.

In under 8 hours over videos, he leads you through everything you need to know about the Maya workflow and animation pipeline in an engaging manner. This is another one where members can download the video for offline consumption as well as access the exercise files that are used throughout the course to more easily follow along with the video demonstrations. The premium level includes project files you can download and allows offline viewing on mobile devices if billed annually.

There are currently more than 3, courses on the site with plenty of them covering advanced Maya and 3D topics, so you're getting value for money. Okay, this one is not specifically about Maya, but rather a book on 3D animation using Maya as the instructional tool. Yup, the same guy who did the video on Udemy mentioned above wrote this. It provides a step-by-step guide to build the necessary skills to gain mastery over Maya.

This book follows the same outline as the video with additional coverage of a few of the new features of the latest version of Maya, and appears to use the same sample content. If you're doing his Udemy course, this would be a great companion guide. Though not released yet, this appears to be a complete treatment of everything you need to know to get much more than your feet wet with 3D animation using Maya. The sample content available demonstrates an effective writing style with plenty of screenshots to clearly explain the interface and if the entire book continues in that vein, it will be utterly amazing.

A CGTalk forum thread was started more than a decade ago dedicated to links to Maya tutorials. Many of the early ones are clearly outdated though some are still useful for the novice but there are some really incredible ones that are still being posted today. Once you have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of CG in Maya, be sure you check out what these guys have to offer.
